Dan Marshall
If Dan told you how many years he’s been sailing he’d have to subtract four from his age. He started in an El Toro with his Dad. His formal sailing education was at the Sausalito Yacht Club, and he grew up racing and cruising on the Bay. The best job he’s ever had was when he was 16. He worked for a Summer Camp as First Mate on a 70 foot schooner in the San Juans, taking girls aged 6 to 16 out for cruises. His second best job is with Club Nautique! Dan had an extraordinary experience sailing a 60 foot trimaran from Panama to New Zealand, and he recently returned from a 4,000 NM on a 43 foot catamaran down the West Coast of Central America, through the Canal, and over to Trinidad. Dan loves capturing his trips on video, and writing stories about the experiences.
Dan’s particularly interested is helping student sailors learn how to create positive experiences for their crew and significant others. He’s also really looking forward to getting certified to teach coastal and offshore cruising.
