John became a professional sailor and instructor at Club Nautique seven years ago and has followed the goal of continuously increasing his knowledge and qualifications to teach sailing. John is a US SAILING Coastal Passage Making Instructor and also holds the British Yachtmaster (Ocean) qualification. He also holds a US Coast Guard Masters license.
John is an active sailor in of the world. He recently returned from the South Pacific where he sailed from New Zealand to New Caledonia. Two years ago he took the same boat to New Zealand from Bora Bora. In recent years he has also sailed in Northern British Columbia, the Taiwan Strait, and Mexico. As John puts it, "Sailing has given me many years of enjoyment and fun. I want to make sailing an important and enjoyable part of my students' lives, as well."
