Night Cruising
This event/seminar is designed to help orient you to night sailing and understanding San Francisco Bay after dark. It will help to expand the scope of your sailing abilities, and allow you to experience the exhilaration of sailing after dark.
Some of the topics we cover are:
- keeping warm
- familiarity with the boat (rigging and cabin layout)
- flashlights
- keeping a lookout
- acquiring (and losing) night vision
- identifying aids to navigation
- identifying other vessels at night
- identifying channel and harbor entrances
- safety equipment
Night Sails are offered during the winter only. It just gets dark too late during summer months to make it practical. This event is limited to six people per boat and reservations are required. For more information, the latest schedule, or to enroll call 800-343-7245.
