Small Boat Seamanship Class
This two day seminar is designed to take you to a new level of sailing proficiency. It's an exciting and challenging weekend that starts with advanced sail trim and then incorporates advanced sailing techniques.
The seminar is held aboard our new Colgate 26s. During the first day this dynamic and stable boat allows us to demonstrate backstay, boomvang, cunningham, outhaul, and traveler controls and how each relates to sail trim in heavy and light air conditions. On day two we move on to different maneuvers under sail such as picking up a mooring, anchoring, and leaving under sail. We'll also practice getting out of irons, sailing backwards, steering with sails, single-handing around buoys, and singlehanded overboard recoveries. We guarantee that you'll have a great time and be a better sailor at the end of the weekend.
