In appreciation of the men and women in our Armed Forces, Club Nautique, along with our proud sponsors, have invited the Navy, Army, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard to participate in The American Armed Forces Cup!

Each branch of the military will be sending three participants to compete head-to-head against the other branches for the American Armed Forces Cup perpetual trophy to be held on Saturday, May 15th, 2010.

Regatta can be viewed from the shore on Ballena Isle in Alameda between 2pm and 5pm.

Club Nautique will provide five evenly matched twenty-six foot sailboats (Colgate 26s). Professional sailing instructors will be assigned to each team to instruct on basic sailing fundamentals and race tactics as needed during the race. Each military team will do the actual sailing. We intend to run three head-to-head races scored on a point system. The overall winner will be presented with the American Armed Forces Cup perpetual trophy, which is to be defended next year and each year thereafter.

All the teams worked hard and sailed great but in the end there is only one winner. In 2009, the Coast Guard team took the cup! Congratulations Coast Guard!
