Charter Terms & Conditions

Published rates include Port Fee (10%) for Alameda and Sausalito. Fuel costs and pump out charges are included in the charter rate for sailboats. Pump out charges are included in the charter rate for powerboats. Rates are subject to change without notice or obligation.

Basic charter day begins at 9 a.m. and end at 7 a.m. the following day.

Afternoon Half Day charter rates are 2 p.m. during the summer season season and 1 p.m. during the winter season. They end at 7 a.m. the following day.

Summer season is from April 1st through October 31st. Winter Season is November 1st through March 31st.

Morning Half Days are from 7 a.m. until 12 p.m.

There are no advance Half Day reservations. You may add a half day (morning or evening) to any charter of 1 or more days. E.G. It is permitted to book in advance a 1.5-day charter.

Free night before boarding is included, when available, for multi-day charters. When pre-boarding is available, the charter will begin at 1600 on the night prior to the body of the charter.

Boat Class Descriptions/Policies:

  • Premium — new or in excellent condition with above average equipment & maintenance. Usually vessels 0-3 years old.
  • Club — middle aged, good condition, some wear & tear. Usually vessels 4-6 years old
  • Value — older, seaworthy condition. Some equipment not affecting seaworthiness may not be in good working order. No credits for equipment failure or upgrades offered on Value yachts.  Usually vessels 7+ years old.

Charter day = 0900 – 0700 next day.

Reservations are accepted with the explicit agreement that conditions beyond Club’s & boat owner’s control may make the boat unseaworthy or unavailable during the reserved dates. Club will refund 100% of the charter fee & make its best effort to offer an alternative vessel. In no event shall Club’s or Owner’s liability exceed the refund of the charter fee.

Navigation limits vary with boat model, location, and charterer certification. Check with us for specific limits before confirming your charter.

When racing, the insurance deductible is doubled and the sails and rig are not covered.

Some boats are available with a spinnaker to qualified sailors at higher rates. Call for boat availability and exact rates. (Members only)

Non Members must provide a valid credit card deposit in the amount of the deductible for your charter.

Pets are not permitted on board any of our boats.

Member charterers who have not chartered with Club Nautique in over 18 months will be required to do a checkout. Non Member charterers must complete a checkout annually. The non-member checkout must take place no less than 48 hours prior to the start of the first charter of that year. The non-member checkout is valid through December 31 of the calendar year during which the checkout took place.

Cancellations – Members: There is no charge if the change or cancellation is the greater of 72 hours or length of charter prior to the charter whichever is greater. The cancellation charge is 25% of the charter rate. Cancellations for inclement weather are at the discretion of base manager.

Cancellations – Non Members: There is no charge if the change or cancellation is more than 14 days prior to the charter or the length of the term of the charter, whichever is greater. The cancellation charge is 50% of the charter rate. Cancellations for inclement weather are at the discretion of base manager.

Cleaning fee – Charterer will be charged (with a one-hour minimum charge) for additional cleaning if Club Nautique determines that the vessel was not left in a tidy manner (hosed off, trash removed, etc.).

Late return fee – If the vessel is not returned by agreed upon time, the charterer will pay Club Nautique the sum of 25% of that day’s charter rate for each hour or fraction thereof that it is late.

Power Charters Only: Fuel is billed separately for all Power charters.
