Attention Blue Water Cruisers!

This years cruise will again take us 200+ miles of blue water cruising with port-o-call visits in Monterey, Santa Cruz, and Half Moon Bay! We’ll have lots of fun events scheduled: Rally/Race, yacht club group dinner, dock parties, and much more!

Thursday, May 25
Cruise under the Golden Gate at around 1730 hours for an evening arrival and rest in Half Moon Bay
1600 Depart marinas for Half Moon Bay
1730 ETA Golden Gate Bridge, 1.75 knot ebb
2120 Sunset
2130 ETA Half Moon Bay, anchor for the night

Friday, May 26
Enjoy the sights of Monterey, Fisherman’s Wharf, Monterey Aquarium and Cannery Row. Sail for Santa Cruz if you want a day at the Beach Boardwalk or stay another night (depending on slip availability).

1800 Dinner at Monterey Yacht Club

Saturday, May 27
Soak up the sunshine on the way to Santa Cruz, and don’t miss Dock Party at 1600!
1000 Depart Monterey for Santa Cruz
1400 ETA Santa Cruz
1600 Dock party
1800 Boardwalk, dinner on your own

 

Sunday, May 28 
Set sail and race to Half Moon Bay and trade sea stories over cocktails at Half Moon Bay Yacht before dinner.
0700 Rally / Race Santa Cruz to Half Moon Bay with reverse handicap
1600 ETA Half Moon Bay
1800 Group dinner, Rally / Race results & trophy presentation ashore

 

Monday, May 29 (Memorial Day)
1000 Depart Half Moon Bay for Golden Gate
1400 ETA Golden Gate Bridge, 2.9 knot flood
Head for home and ride the flood current through the Golden Gate.

• Passage times are based on 7 knot SOG (27.25’ waterline at hull speed)
Eureka! will monitor VHF channels 16 & 69. Use ch.69 for group communications.
• Cruise is designed for experienced (CPM, CPC certified or better) ocean yachtsmen looking to maximize sailing time & miles.
• Participation is open to Club Nautique and BBYC members & their guests aboard Club vessels or members’ vessels & Club charter vessels.
• Itinerary is subject to change due to conditions beyond organizers’ control, such as weather.
