Club Nautique is the premier sailing school and yacht charter company in the Bay Area with two locations in Alameda and Sausalito. We offer classes, sailing and powerboat charters, skippered charters, corporate events, member events, and new and used yacht sales.

We teach the full sailing and powerboating curriculum from US Sailing and US Powerboating – the national standard for sailing and powerboating instruction. Our mission is to inspire joy through boating. We are passionate about training and providing opportunities for our clients and members to pursue their goals of being out on the water whether that is day sailing on the Bay or cruising across the oceans.

We currently have an opening for a full-time Member Acquisition and Engagement Manager in Alameda and part-time Sailing and Powerboating Instructors.

Member Acquisition and Engagement Manager in Alameda

We are looking for an enthusiastic, friendly individual who is passionate about customer service and will make a positive impact on our customers, members, and coworkers. This position is for the Alameda location.

Overview: Leads efforts to grow the member base and deepen member involvement, with a focus on onboarding, upgrading, and retention strategies. This role also serves as a primary point of contact for prospective members, guiding them through the inquiry process and converting interest into active memberships.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Handle incoming inquiries from prospective members via phone, email, and walk-ins
  • Provide personalized information and guidance to help prospects choose the right membership option and join Club Nautique
  • Sign up new members and ensure a smooth onboarding experience
  • Track members through their classes and promote membership upgrades through personalized outreach 
  • Analyze usage and engagement data to identify upgrade opportunities
  • Promptly answer all incoming calls received, screen calls and transfers calls to the proper person or department
  • Greet members, students, and instructors at the front desk 
  • Assist with check in of all students for classes and all members for charters 
  • Prepare all materials for charters and classes
  • Prepare and share materials for classes via email and mail 
  • Phone members to confirm charters and take payments
  • Organize daily business for accounting
  • Ensures all students are emailed or called with class reminders weekly
  • Book charter reservations using reservation system
  • File and scan class paperwork upon class completion
  • Assist with event planning and set up including light food prep
  • Assist with leading flotillas locally and internationally
  • Restock office supplies and assist with inventory as needed
  • Keep common areas clean including light dusting, vacuuming, and sanitizing as needed
  • Provide general clerical and administrative assistance, when needed, to the Alameda Base Manager, Membership Director, and others as needed

 

Your qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of sales, member engagement, acquisition, customer service, or similar experience
  • High school diploma required, college degree preferred
  • Excellent phone and in-person communication skills
  • Takes initiative and can work independently
  • Excellent filing and typing skills
  • Strong computer skills including Google GSuite and Microsoft Office Suite 
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment

Job Description

We are looking for sailing and powerboating instructors with options to teach both weekdays and weekends with classes held in both our Alameda and Sausalito locations. We teach the full US Sailing and US Powerboating curriculums and offer the most advanced training on the Bay. Instructors must have a USCG OUPV (6-pack) license.
